How CISOs are turning to AI to fill the

skills shortage

Despite ‘insufficient personnel’ being considered the greatest inhibitor to defending AI-powered threats, increasing cyber security staff is not a priority.

Challenges

Headcount is the biggest problem...

Our survey found that it isn’t budget, or lack of executive or board-level awareness that are seen as the obstacles to dealing with AI-powered threats. Insufficient personnel leaped into the #1 spot for greatest inhibitors.

Priorities

... but very few are planning on hiring

Increasing staff is at the bottom of the priority list, with 11% (and only 8% of executives) planning to increase cybersecurity staff in 2025 – even less than in 2024. Top of the list? Adding AI tools to the existing stack.
