Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has been named ‘Best Cyber Security Start-up’ at the The 2016 Europas Awards ceremony, held in London last night.

Founded in 2009, The Europas are the premier awards for Europe’s hottest young technology enterprises. The Awards celebrate the most forward thinking, progressive and innovative technology companies across more than 20 categories. Judges include YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim, investors from Accel, Balderton and Google Ventures, and journalists from The Next Web, TechCrunch, Wired, and more.

Powered by machine learning and mathematics developed by specialists from the University of Cambridge, Darktrace’s self-learning technology is able to monitor network activity and detect threats, before harm can be done. The Europas Awards have recognized Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System for its innovative ‘immune system’ approach to the evolving cyber threat.

Now with over 1,000 deployments worldwide, 270 employees and 150 partners, Darktrace is one of the fastest-growing cyber defence companies with its advanced ‘immune system’ technology.

“We are delighted to see our unique ‘immune system’ technology recognized by The Europas,” said Nicole Eagan, CEO of Darktrace. “The Enterprise Immune System is the only technology that applies genuinely unsupervised machine learning to the increasingly pernicious cyber threats we see today. Organisations are slowly waking up to the fact that the threat is already inside the network and are now seeking technology that can give security teams the time they need to fight back.”
