Statement regarding LockBit claims
Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace’s Email Security Product Wins 2020 Fortress Cyber Security Award
Darktrace’s Email Security Product Wins 2020 Fortress Cyber Security Award
Darktrace, the world’s leading cyber AI company, today announced that its AI-powered email security technology, Antigena Email, has been selected as Application Security Winner in the 2020 Fortress Cyber Security Awards, hosted by the Business Intelligence Group.
The Fortress Cyber Security Awards seeks to identify and reward the world’s leading companies and products that are working to keep our data and electronic assets safe among a growing threat from hackers.
Founded in 2013, Darktrace is one of the fastest-growing private companies in the world with over 1,200 employees and 3,500 customers across 110 countries.
Powered by cyber AI, Antigena Email works by forming an evolving understanding of ‘normal activity’ for email environments and the individual users within them, enabling it to detect incoming novel and targeted attacks that traditional tools miss, including domain spoofing, supply chain account takeovers, and impersonation attempts. A surge in COVID-19 related email attacks has led to the number of customers using Antigena Email to double since January 2020, while the number of requests to trial Antigena Email has quadrupled since the lockdown began in early March.
“Cyber-threats in the inbox are more frequent and sophisticated than ever before, and malicious emails are becoming virtually impossible to spot with the human eye,” commented Poppy Gustafsson, CEO, Darktrace. “AI has shown to be the most effective way to detect and automatically block these novel emails in real time, and we are honoured to be recognized by the Business Intelligence Group for our world-leading AI security for the inbox.”
“We are so proud to name Darktrace as a winner in the 2020 Fortress Cyber Security Awards program,” commented Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “As our society continues to evolve and become more reliant on networks and data, companies like Darktrace are critical at providing the protection and trust consumers demand.”
