Statement regarding LockBit claims
Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Raspberry Pi Protects its Cutting-Edge Intellectual Property with Darktrace AI
Darktrace, the world’s leading AI company for cyber defense, has today announced that Raspberry Pi, the creators of the best-selling British computer, have selected the Enterprise Immune System to protect their network against pernicious cyber-attacks including IP theft and ransomware, as well as latent vulnerabilities.
With more than 15 million low-cost, high-performance computers sold to date, Raspberry Pi empowers children from around the globe to go beyond being passive consumers of digital technologies to being able to create them. The company provides a fun and open environment for children to experiment with programming and computers to inspire and educate the next generation of budding computer engineers and entrepreneurs.
Our intellectual property is the heart of our business and safeguarding it is of paramount importance,” commented Eben Upton, CEO and founder at Raspberry Pi. “Darktrace’s AI technology for cyber defense is a game-changer. It provides us with full visibility into our network, including any connected personal devices, and other weak spots. Darktrace is unique in its ability to detect and remediate any emerging cyber-threats, including ‘unknown unknowns’ that routinely bypass legacy security tools. It allows us to remain resilient in the face of a rapidly-evolving threat landscape – despite a flexible IT policy and a lean security team.”
Powered by machine learning and AI algorithms, the Enterprise Immune System learns the normal ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device on a network and uses that understanding to detect and fight back against cyber-attacks in real time. Within days of installation, Darktrace identified several potential vulnerabilities on Raspberry Pi’s network, including the non-malicious use of the BitTorrent peer-to-peer filesharing protocol on a personal device attached to the network. Raspberry Pi was able to take immediate remedial action and neutralize the threats before any damage could be done.
As one of the most forward-thinking companies of our time, Raspberry Pi has transformed the future of computing,” commented Poppy Gustafsson, CEO EMEA at Darktrace. “We are delighted that this technological pioneer has selected Darktrace to catch vulnerabilities on its network and protect its progressive intellectual property. Our shared Cambridge heritage is also a point of great pride. Proven across 5,000 deployments worldwide, the Enterprise Immune System is the world’s only AI technology capable of detecting and fighting against in-progress threats in real time.”
