Statement regarding LockBit claims
Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Top-Three US Retailer Selects Darktrace
Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, announces that one of the three largest department store chains in the US by retail sales has deployed Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System to help defend against evolving external and internal cyber-threats, by detecting them early.
As one of the US’s leading retail companies, this Fortune 500 department store chain operates over 1,000 stores across the country. It also draws a large proportion of its revenue from its online business, and relies on reliable and constantly-available global networks. Accordingly, it manages a large dataset, including highly confidential customer information.
This company decided to deploy Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System, which is based on award-winning machine learning and mathematics developed at the University of Cambridge, following a four-week Proof of Value (POV). During this trial, the retailer experienced the fundamental value of a self-learning defensive approach, capable of detecting emerging, previously unidentified threats, and providing 100% network visibility.
“From point-of-sales exposures through to vulnerabilities around multi-channel customer experience, retailers live with a constant risk of suffering a data breach that could do long-lasting damage to their revenues and reputation,” said Rob Sass, Managing Director US, Darktrace. “Here is an example of a US retail giant proactively addressing today’s threats to minimize risk on a continual basis. We are delighted to be extending ‘immune system’ defense to this organization, and across the retail industry as a whole.”
