Statement regarding LockBit claims
Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace Named 'Cool Vendor' by Gartner
Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has been named a ‘Cool Vendor’ by technology research firm Gartner in its ‘Cool Vendors in Energy and Utilities, 2015’ report, published on March 31, 2015.
Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System technology leverages machine learning and mathematics developed at the University of Cambridge to automatically establish a ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device within an organization. By understanding normality, it is capable of dynamically detecting new and emerging anomalies that represent cyber-threats, including APTs (Advanced Persistent Threats).
This technology has been extended to Industrial Control System environments, including SCADA systems, allowing critical infrastructure providers to continuously monitor the behaviors of networked machines and detect deviations from normality that may point to security holes, vulnerabilities or malicious attacks.
The Gartner report states that “Advanced persistent threat detection software uses mathematical models and analytics to effectively characterize and classify threats, but data sources must be consistent and comprehensive.” It recommends that “CISOs responsible for cyber security strategies should consider solutions for advanced persistent threat detection and analysis that can be used across both IT and OT environments.”
Darktrace today serves over 70 customers globally, in sectors including financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, media and transportation, as well as a strong presence in the energy and utilities industry.
"We are honored to be recognized by Gartner in this year's ‘Cool Vendors in Energy and Utility’ report," said Nicole Eagan, CEO of Darktrace. "We believe this recognition from Gartner confirms the fundamental innovation of the Enterprise Immune System, as an entirely new class of cyber defense technology, and demonstrates why more and more organizations are turning to our self-learning approach to address today’s complex cyber-threat landscape."
Each year, Gartner identifies new Cool Vendors and publishes a series of research reports evaluating these innovative vendors, their products and services. As one of the world's leading information technology research advisory companies, Gartner defines a Cool Vendor as a company that provides technologies or solutions that are innovative, impactful and intriguing.
