Statement regarding LockBit claims
Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Qubit Safeguards Sensitive Customer Data with Darktrace AI
Darktrace, the world leader in AI technology for cyber defense, has today announced that Qubit, makers of the leading platform for personalized customer experiences, has deployed Darktrace’s disruptive machine learning technology to defend its network against external and insider threats.
Qubit works with over 300 of the world’s leading brands in the retail, travel and eGaming sectors, including Topshop, Thomas Cook, Emirates and John Lewis. Trusted by these companies to host and derive actionable insights from their customers’ data, Qubit considers cyber security a mission-critical business priority. With the influx of personal devices connected to its systems, Qubit wanted to be able to detect the earliest signs of data infiltration and exfiltration, before any damage is done.
Our days of reliance on traditional border security are over,” commented Kyle Eve, Head of IT, Qubit. “We have been impressed with Darktrace’s ability to spot emerging threats without any human training, or knowledge of what ‘bad’ looks like. The Enterprise Immune System provides unprecedented visibility across our entire network, including company-owned and employees’ personal devices. The AI technology is a force-multiplier for our security team – the smart algorithms are constantly learning and their evolving understanding of what constitutes ‘normal’ for our organization means that any threatening anomaly would be spotted instantaneously, giving us the upper hand in what is an incredibly complex threat landscape.”
Darktrace’s AI algorithms self-learn the ‘pattern of life’ for every entity on Qubit’s network, whether that is a user, a device, or a sub-network, and can detect and autonomously respond to emerging threats. Genuine anomalies are flagged to the security team in real time, before they become crises. Qubit also benefits from 100% visibility into its network, including employees’ personal devices, IoT vulnerabilities and any other potential inroads into the network.
We are delighted that Qubit is leading the charge in leveraging AI technology to defend its network and data against sophisticated external attacks and inadvertent insider threat,” said Nick Trim, Managing Director, EMEA at Darktrace. “The Enterprise Immune System leverages the latest advancements in machine learning and probabilistic mathematics to mark a step-change in the way organizations detect and halt in-progress attacks.”
