Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Inphi Safeguards its Intellectual Property with Darktrace

May 8, 2017

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that Inphi Corporation has deployed its innovative self-learning platform for cyber defense to safeguard its intellectual property and retain its technological advantage in a competitive industry.

With a new threat to face every day, the signature-based approach has rendered itself insufficient,” commented Dr. Ron Torten, Senior Vice President of Operations and Information Technology, Inphi. “As a leader in innovation, we require state-of-the-art technology to help secure our intellectual property against ‘unknown unknowns’. With Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System, we can now detect and take action against emerging threats that other security tools miss.”

As a leading provider of high-speed data movement interconnects, Inphi considers safeguarding its cutting-edge intellectual property a top business priority. Legacy solutions that look at past attacks in an attempt to pre-define and pre-empt future breaches fall short in the face of a rapidly-evolving threat landscape and novel, never-seen-before attacks.

Leveraging advances in machine learning and probabilistic mathematics, Darktrace brings transformative AI technology to cyber defense. Instead of relying on rules and signatures to stop threats at the border, the Enterprise Immune System learns the normal ‘pattern of life’ of Inphi’s network and uses that understanding to spot and respond to threatening anomalies in real time, including ‘unknown unknowns’.

The value of Darktrace was evidenced just a few weeks after installation, when the self-learning technology alerted Inphi to a significant anomaly that its existing perimeter defenses had missed – sophisticated malware was attempting to install itself onto a corporate device. Due to the Enterprise Immune System’s self-learnt understanding of ‘normal’, Inphi was able to remediate the issue instantly, preventing a breach of its sensitive data.

We are thrilled to be helping Inphi protect its intellectual property and stay abreast of increasingly advanced and automated attacks,” commented Rob Sass, Managing Director, North America at Darktrace. “Proactive organizations across the globe are increasingly turning to AI and machine learning technologies capable of automatically fighting back against the silent and subtle threats plaguing our networks. Inphi has proven itself an industry leader by adopting these new technologies.”
